Doug is an entrepreneurial business leader with extensive P&L experience and a diverse background in marketing, sales, operations, product management, and professional services in technology-related businesses.
Doug has a track record of leading new ventures and businesses in transition, implementing marketing strategies and operational improvements to deliver revenue growth and profitability. As a corporate leader and experienced consultant, he has worked with large and small companies.
Prior to joining Stratford, Doug founded Platform Marketing, a marketing consultancy firm. Serving as an “on demand” virtual marketing department, Platform Marketing delivered results while optimizing product development, marketing, and sales expenses.
From 2005 to 2008, Doug served as Vice President of Global Marketing for Mitel Networks. Doug directed all aspects of worldwide marketing including marketing communications and brand, corporate communications and public relations, product and solutions marketing, commercial marketing, and channel and field marketing.
As Senior Vice President of Marketing for MTS Allstream, from 2003 to 2005, Doug was responsible for all outbound marketing for the national enterprise division including business intelligence and customer satisfaction, integrated brand awareness, demand generation, direct marketing, advertising, customer events, new product launches, distribution agents, telesales, sales training, and solution-selling tools.
From 1984 to 2003, Doug held numerous senior management positions with Nortel Networks including Vice President and General Manager, Global Professional Services; Regional Vice President of Sales, Canada; Vice President Marketing, Carrier Networks; and General Manager, Enterprise Wireless.
Doug holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto, and a Masters of Business Administration from York University’s, Schulich School of Business.
