Natalie Giroux joins CEO of Welbi on Techopia Live

Stratford Intellectual Property Managing Director, Natalie Giroux had the chance to join Techopia Live episode with Welbi CEO, Elizabeth Audette-Bourdeau.

The interview titled “Pandemic sees Ottawa’s Welbi adapt retirement home platform” spoke of Welbi’s recent victory at the SoGal Ventures pitch competition in Silicon Valley. The successful pitch earned Welbi US$25,000 in funding and marks the first time a Canadian company has won at the SoGal competition, which focuses on supporting women-led startups.

 

Natalie provided a small piece of Intellectual Property advise for Elizabeth and her team to consider:

“The key for your type of platform, is make sure you take the time to log your trade secrets. So if you’re developing novel machine learning, or any kind of novel algorithms, it’s important to keep a log of them so that you can show the value to your investors later on.”
